Welcome to Western Sweden and Ulricehamn - the pearl by Åsunden.
During this trip you will experience the Wilderness Trail - an adventurous hiking trail with interesting history. Here is a chance to see both moose and deer. The trail starts from Årås mill in Ulricehamn municipality and is a circular loop of a total of 8.7 kilometers that partly runs in Årås nature reserve.
Together with a nature guide from Outdoor Support, you walk through several old mowing and grazing beds, vast bogs and through real old-growth forest. The hiking trail takes you over Kohesterberget with a nice view of Lake Jogen and next to a 3000-year-old burial mound. Right next to the trail are a couple of fox and badger pots. Along the trail there are several signs with interesting information about both nature and culture. In connection with hiking, you get a guided tour of Årås Säteri.
The hike can be classified as a medium and goes on nature trails, pastures, footbridges and gravel roads and is suitable for adults and children from 10 years.
The price includes two nights with breakfast, lunch and coffee for the day of hiking, guide from Outdoor Support, guide Årås Säteri.
You take your own car to Årås Kvarn - approx. 35min. Of course, it is possible to arrange transport there and back to Skotteksgården at extra cost.
Check-in from 13:00 on the day of arrival and check-out until 11:00 on the day of departure. We take care of your luggage so you can arrive early and stay a little longer.
Bring your own thermos for coffee / tea water and a backpack.
