Fishing is relaxing and exciting at the same time. Lake Åsunden is a popular fishing lake and many fishing fans return to Ulricehamn every year.
Here you can catch, among others, Perch, Goose, Brax, Pike and Trout. The fishing area Övre Åsunden itself comprises about 2000 ha. Don't miss the popular fishing contest "Gösnatta" at the end of June when dozens of boats leave the harbor in the city to catch the largest pike. Are you in?
Fishing in Ulricehamn
Ulricehamn Municipality has a total of 16 different fishery conservation areas. Here is the Fishing Guide.
If you come with your own boat, there is the guest habor and the boat slip in the city, only 2 km from us.
You can then anchor the boat with us at our boat site (pre-booking required).With us you can rent a rowing boat or motor boat for your fishing adventure. The boats are available during summer and autumn as long as the campsite is open.
Simple fishing gear is available at Dollarstore in Ulricehamn. If you want a little more advanced equipment, there are retail stores in Borås. For example, Vildland on Getängsvägen and Wollmar's fiske on Källbäcksrydsgatan.
Fishing licenses for Lake Åsunden can be purchased at the reception. For all other fishing waters in the municipality you can buy your fishing license online at iFiske.se. or in different places directly next to the lake - see Fishing guide.
At the Tourist Office you can also buy waterproof depth maps of Åsunden.
Show consideration for nature: "Do not disturb - do not destroy". Our Swedish Allmänrätt is a freedom with responsibility. Do not take more fish than for house needs. Releasing the really big fish is needed for a sustainable fish stock. Do not damage or disturb the environment and wildlife when you are out in nature.
